Image to PDF Converter (PDF Utility Hub) FAQ
Welcome to the Client-Side PDF Utility Hub! This tool allows you to convert, merge, split, and optimize PDF documents directly in your web browser. This means all your files remain private, and your computer does the work—ensuring zero load on our servers and maximum security for your documents.
1. User Guide: How to Use Our Tools
The Hub contains four powerful tools. To begin, click the name of the tool you wish to use on the left sidebar.
Tool 1: Image to PDF Converter (Reorder Pages)
This tool is used to convert one or more image files into a single PDF document, with full control over page order and output formatting.
- Select Images: Click the “Select File(s)” button or drag and drop your images into the drop area. You can add images one by one or all at once.
- Supported Formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, TIFF, BMP.
- Rearrange Pages: After uploading, the “Drag to Reorder Pages” gallery will appear. Click and drag the image thumbnails to place them in the exact order you want them to appear in the final PDF. The page numbers in the top-left corner will update automatically.
- Set Output Settings (Crucial Step):
- Page Size & Orientation: Choose between A4 or Letter, and Portrait or Landscape orientation.
- Image Scaling: Select “Fit to Page (Recommended)” to ensure the entire image is visible (with a small safety margin), or “Original Size (May Crop)” if you need 1:1 scaling regardless of cropping.
- Convert: Click the “Convert Images to PDF” button. The file will be instantly generated in your browser and your download will begin automatically.
Tool 2: Merge PDFs
Use this feature to combine two or more PDF documents into a single master PDF file.
- Select Files: Click the “Select File(s)” button or drag and drop your PDFs into the drop area.
- Incremental Upload: You can upload files one by one (incrementally) or all at once. The file list below the button will show the order in which they will be merged.
- Start Merging: Click the “Start Merging (X files)” button.
- Download: Once the process is complete, the final merged PDF will download automatically.
Tool 3: Split PDF
This tool allows you to extract specific pages or page ranges from a single PDF document.
- Select PDF: Drag and drop one PDF file into the drop area.
- Define Page Range: In the “Pages to Split” input field, enter the pages or ranges you want to extract, separated by commas.
- Example Syntax:
1-5, 8, 10-end
- (This would split pages 1 through 5, page 8, and pages 10 through the end of the document).
- Example Syntax:
- Start Splitting: Click the “Split PDF” button.
- Download Warning: The tool will attempt to trigger multiple individual downloads (one for each page or range you specified). You may need to temporarily disable your browser’s pop-up blocker or grant permission for multiple files to download simultaneously.
Tool 4: Optimize PDF (Compression)
This feature re-saves the internal structure of your PDF to reduce its file size without compromising quality.
- Select PDF: Drag and drop one PDF file into the drop area.
- Start Optimization: Click the “Optimize PDF” button.
- Download: The optimized file will download automatically with

appended to the name.
2. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Security & Privacy
Q: Are my files uploaded to your server? A: Absolutely not. This is a 100% client-side application. All file processing, including conversion, merging, splitting, and optimization, happens directly within your web browser. Your files never leave your device, ensuring maximum privacy and security.
Q: Is the tool really free? A: Yes, the PDF Utility Hub is entirely free to use and integrated directly into this website.
Functionality & Troubleshooting
Q: My images are getting cut off in the final PDF. How do I fix this? A: When using the Image to PDF tool, make sure you select “Fit to Page (Recommended)” under the PDF Output Settings. This scales the image down slightly to ensure it fits entirely within the page’s printable area, preventing any cropping.
Q: Why are my split PDF files not downloading? A: The Split PDF feature is designed to generate multiple files at once. Modern browsers often block this to prevent malicious pop-ups.
- Solution: When the conversion finishes, check the URL bar for a Pop-up Blocker notification (usually an icon with a red ‘X’). Click this and select “Always allow pop-ups and redirects from this site” or manually grant permission for the downloads.
Q: What file types are supported for conversion? A: For the Image to PDF tool, we support all major image formats, including: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, TIFF, and BMP.
Q: Can I merge images and PDFs together? A: No. The Image to PDF tool is only for images, and the Merge PDFs tool is only for PDF files. If you need to combine both, first use the Image to PDF tool, then use the Merge PDFs tool to combine the resulting PDF with your other PDF documents.
